About the course
In this course, you will explore English through two engaging themes, Sports and Art. In Semester 1, we discuss great athletes, sports events, the relationship between sports and health, and healthy foods. Each chapter guides you through instructional objectives, critical thinking questions, reviews, reflections, assessments, and enrichment activities, helping you develop reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills in meaningful contexts. You will analyze descriptive, recount, and informational texts while learning vocabulary, grammar patterns, and communication strategies connected to real-life topics.
In Semester 2, the focus shifts to Art, including graffiti as a form of expression and fractured stories as creative narratives. You will examine how ideas are structured in texts, how language choices influence meaning, and how reflection strengthens understanding. Through structured activities and assessments, you will practice interpreting texts, expressing opinions, building arguments, and producing your own spoken and written works with clarity and confidence. This course combines language knowledge, communication skills, and critical thinking to prepare you for academic and social interaction in English.
